Future Training

We look forward to being able to start up other forms of skills training as the classrooms are completed.

Members of the community have shown interest in carpentry and woodwork, metalwork and welding, plumbing and pipe-fitting, electrical installation, automotive and mechanics training. The younger adults showed interest in computer and I.T. related training which will be available once we have equipped a computer centre for them.

Most of the training that the community is interested in are skills which are not readily available in the area. Training would give them the chance to start up small businesses which could also create job opportunities for other members in the community.

With access to training in rural areas, members from the community are less inclined to move away from home to try to make a living. Skills training gives them the chance to improve things themselves and to create a micro economy without them having to wait for government to do something because of a lack of knowledge.
