Half of the Kruger National Park is on Mozambique’s side of the border, which along with its wildlife and natural beauty attracts a lot of tourism. There is little more to find in the outlying villages than the odd kiosk and a make shift “bar” for a beer that is part of a house more than it could be a business.

Members from the community have shown interest in learning to cook and run a kitchen for a little home run business which could cater to the community and the occasional tourist. Even bread can be difficult to find and other members from the community have asked about learning to make bread for small bakery that could serve the community.

We already have plans to run a soup kitchen to give the students a meal because taking the time to come learn a skill often means not finding an odd job to be able to to buy something extra to eat with what they grew in their gardens. They are looking forward to when we have a finished cafeteria and kitchen area to gain learn in and gain some hospitality and services experience.

Our staff and trainers will be residing on the premises during their stays and will also be receiving their meals from the soup kitchen.
